唐本忠：我们经常讲材料改变世界。远古的时候，我们不知道那个年代是什么年代的时候，就以那个年代最重要的材料来命名那个时代，比方说石器时代、铜器时代、铁器时代。我自己的经历也告诉我，材料确实改变世界。我们小时候那些房子都是石头和砖头盖的，现在都是混凝土，包養網将来可能会有更新的材料去让这个房子变得更加容易建造，更能够抵抗地震或者其他灾害。

聚集诱导发光（AIE）就是一种新型的发光材料，它的用途非常广。现代社会没有光是不行的，光在日常生活中让我们看到在黑暗里看不到的东西。有很多时候物质太小或者太少，就看不见，比方说病毒、细菌我们是看不见的。我们这个材料可以让这些东西闪闪发光，等于又给了我们一双眼睛。这种材料就是让你包養能看得更小更清楚。所以从这方面来讲，它的应用场景非常广泛。

一种材料可以打造整整一个产业，甚至可以打造整整一个时代。所以我希望这种材料能够开发出很多应用，并且我希望在大湾区，甚至在整个中国，在全世界，我们能够打造出一大片应用场景，能够让人们的生活更加方便，让生活的质量变得更好。比如我们可以看到肿瘤，并且我们同时可以把肿瘤杀死，这个叫做诊疗一体化。

打造中国独有的材料，是新质生产力发展的方向

中国网：您认为，在包養全球经济与科技局势快速变化的环境中，材料科学领域应该在哪些关键点上重点发力?在新一轮科技革命和产业变革中，研发新材料将如何助推“新质生产力”的发展？

唐本忠：我再举几个例子，比方说发动机，讲的不是发包養網动机的问题，是材料的问题；我们以前造航母造不出来，也不是我们的技术问题，是材料的问题，很多时候都是材料的问题。新质生产力一定是与材料有关系的。国外有些公司竞争，实际包養網上就是把关键的材料掌握在手上，材料一卡住的话，后面就无以为继了。

材料有点像什么呢？有点像粮食，我们说巧妇难为无米之炊，再好的技术没有材料是做不出来的。所以材料对新质生产力，对于将来国民经济的发展，对大到我们民族的复兴、国家的强盛，这些都是密切相关的。

如果材料这个领域做好的话，实际上其他领域也发展起来了。是相包養網互促进、相互补充的关系。所以我觉得，如果是在材料领域去着力打造出我们中国独有的最好的材料，是新质生产力发展的一个重要的方向。

科研的引领和独创包養，必须要在哲学上有所突破

中国网：您一直重视科学的原始创新，去年通过媒体合作也促进了科学家与哲学家的高端对话，对于青年人创新的思维培养与创新研究的突破，您认为高校和整个教育体系应该重视哪些改变？

唐本忠：做科学实际上是离不开哲学的，哲学指导你的思维。所以这就是为什么我当时办了一个科学和哲学论坛，我是希望科学家和哲学家能够坐在一起对话，能够互相借鉴，互相指导，推动科学向前发展。

因为很多时候，一个新的包養发现，实际上有很多时候是“捡到的”。有很多时候实际上就是很简单的事情，但是它后面有非常重要的科学意义。这就是与哲学、与思维能力这些有关系了。所以这就是为什么我这段时间特别强调，科学和哲学要结合。我们以前落后，我们向别人学习，从某种意义上讲是必要的。但是你不能永远做学生，你要青出于蓝而胜于蓝，你必须要超过老师。这个时候就不是你多么努力就可以实现的事了，你要超过别人，必须要思想上超过别人。

我们将来要做中国独创的东西，我们要做引领的东西，就必须要在哲学上有所突破，必须要把思想给武装起来，在认识论方面要提高，这样才会把看起来不进眼的东西，变成一个重要的科学问题。

中国网：您从华南理工大学毕业包養，又在香港科技大学、香港中文大学（深圳）从事了半生的科学研究，对于粤港澳大湾区应当说有很深的了解和感情，当今的粤港澳大湾区与您读书和从教之初的年代相比，对于科学研究创新的环境，有哪些变化？您想对年轻学子们说些什么寄语？

唐本忠：我在内地受到非常好的本科教育，后来出国，在京都大学拿到博士学位，在加拿大多伦多大学做博士后。所以东方的研究哲学和西方的研究哲学我都学到了一些。我觉得东方的研究哲学和西方的研究哲学各有千秋，所以这就是为什么我后来到香港科技大学，把东方的研究哲学和西方的研究哲学糅合在一块，把它们最好的地方利用起来。

所以在我的研究组，我希望学生第一个要有扎实的基础知识，第二个要有创意做研究。并且要自由地去探索。当然我和他们一起去探索，实际上我最享受的就是跟学生讨论工作，在这个过程中跟他们一道把最闪光的科学问题给提炼出来。

对现在的年轻人，我希望他们一定要找到一个喜欢做的事情，去享受他们做的事情，这样的话才会最终做出喜欢的东西。

在一个课题组、在一个实验室，我自己觉得最重要的事情什么？先要营造一个好的环境。

组里面的同学都要努力，同学之间要良性竞争，互相帮助。现在要解决的很多问题是全方位的，是跨学科的，是需要合作的。所以在实验室里面我是特别鼓励同学们互相合作，互相帮助，共同成长。最反对什么？就包養是把别人的灯吹灭。我们经常讲你把别人的灯吹灭，你自己也不会变得更亮。互相要欣赏，互相要支持，这样才会共同进步。

培养领袖级人物，开辟新产业新赛道

中国网：对于纵深推进粤港澳大湾区建设，开辟新兴产业新赛道，您有哪些建议？

唐本忠：粤港澳大湾区，我自己认为这是中国经济最发达的地区之一，这个地方的技术含量越来越高了，但是还远远不够。我们有很好的大企业，但是第一个数量太少，第二个还没有真正形成技术产业群。

这个地方要发展的话就一定要是高科技，最好的是什么？是高附加值的产品，智力型的。我觉得在大学里面主要就是培养优秀的年轻人，这些人将来如果有大的产包養业集群能够接纳他们的话，就会开发出一些智慧型的产品。

我希望不只是解决别人现在“卡”我们的问题，而是我们在世界上能够做出比别人更好的东西，能够开创出新的赛道，能够在赛道上带着大家跑。

中国网包養網：香港中文大学（深圳）的办学实践是大湾区合作发展的成功典范。包養網您认为，高校在大湾区的科研人才培养、助推大湾区科研产业升级等方面应该起到哪些作用？

唐本忠：我们国家的教育非常成功，也还有很大改善的空间。

为什么说非常成功？改革开放40多年来，我们的进步是巨大无比的，科学家在这个里面做包養網了很大的贡献。

但是话又说回来，我们将来要再上一个台阶，只靠现在的教育可能就会有问题了。因为什么？我们刚开始培养一大批的技术人员，培养一包養大批的工程师，掌握现在的知识之后，从很低位到中位，这是很容易上来的，但是从中位再到高位去的话，要培养的人才就不太一样了。可能还需要技术工人，还需要工程师，但是可能更需要科学家，更需要全新的东西。

我们是做教育的，教育就是育人，我们学校的理念是全人教育，我是非常赞同这种提法的。学理工科的人更需要学文科，为什么？我觉得一个人的发展必须是全面发展，我现在是理工学院的院长，我是希望学生们去读点但丁的《神曲》，去看一下莎士比亚的剧作，去读点黑格尔的哲学，这些是精神财富。

在这个学校，我们非常强调全面发展，当然我们要教授专业知识。这个学校是全英文教学，所以这么讲也是国际化的教育。我们希望整个人类文明的瑰宝你都能够知道、都能够学习，同时要有你的专业素养。

还有一个就是我反复强调的，我们培养什么？我们培养有批判性思维的、有专业素养的、有国际视野包養的领袖级的人物。我们民族要复兴，需要大批这样的人才。我们沿着这个方向在努力。

通过科普去影响年轻人，走向科学道路

中国网：除了在学校从事科研和教育工作，您也非常重视向社会宣扬科学、传播科学家的热情，您对于科学传播的热情来源是什么？

唐本忠：我觉得科普对塑造我们的文化、对塑造价值观是有帮助的。如果小朋友从小就喜欢科学，他觉得科学是一个伟大的事业，他很有可能就会不畏劳苦往这个方面努力。

这个社会的价值观会对每个人发生很大的影响，媒体的宣传实际上对每个人的影响是非常大的。所以从这点来，我自己包養網也希望我们的媒体能够向社会宣传更多正向的东西、正能量的东西。我希望通过做科普去影响年轻人，希望将来有一批优秀的人能够走向科学这条道路。

现在有些国家卡我们实际上主要是卡在高科技这一块，中科技和低科技我们算是全世界最强的，高科技这块我们现在做得不够，靠什么去补？靠人。一个优秀的人、一包養群优秀的人，会改变一个国家，甚至可以改变整个世界，改变人类发展的方向都有可能包養。

发展软实力，向整个社会发出科学的声音

中国网：作为科学家，您也投身于社会事业，作为大湾区科学论坛战略咨询委员会的委员，在去年的大湾区科学论坛上包養網，您进行了精彩的发言。对于大湾区科学论坛，如何推动科学合作领域发挥作用，您有怎样的建议？对于接下来大湾区科包養網学论坛如何做到推动科学家的交流创新，您又有哪些期许？

唐本忠：我觉得大湾区科学论坛是一个非常好的尝试。一个国家要强大，是包括两部分的实包養網力，一个叫硬实力，一个叫软实力。

现在我们硬实力到一定的程度之后，就一定要发展我们的软实力。我觉得大湾区科学论坛从这种意义上讲是一个非常好的尝试，因为这个就是向全世界发出我们中国的声音。这是个非常好的尝试。

我觉得要办就要努力把它办好，把它办成一个品牌。一方面我觉得现在政府非常热情，指导的非常具体；另一方面我希望也要借助民间的力量，甚至可以引入一些商业的操作。需要政府的支持，需要科学家的努力、科学家的参与，也需要资金的投入。

我们中国科学家现在在世界上的力量实际上是很强大的，我们的声音还不够大，我们可以把这个声音发得更响一点，科学论坛我觉得在这方面可以做很多事。另外包括科普、包括数据库，这种东西都可以做。我希望能够办出特色，办出品牌。
